I begin by reinterpreting each design, imagining how the artwork can develop across multiple layers of cardstock. I then digitally build the three-dimensional composition layer by layer, vector by vector. From this foundation, I refine geometry and color until the piece feels fully realized. Each layer is then individually laser cut, reviewed, revised, and hand trimmed. Once the physical layers match my vision, they are aligned and glued in a custom jig, then matted and framed.
Original layered paper artwork available for purchase directly from the artist. Please contact us here.
Much of my work reinterprets historical designs, drawing inspiration from periods spanning antiquity and the Middle Ages through to modern art. By blending a deep appreciation for history with contemporary technology, I create pieces that are both rooted in tradition and strikingly original.
